My GM (Chevy/GMC/Cadillac/Hummer) Instrument Cluster is in a different language how can I change it?

For the 2003-2006 GM Pickup/SUV instrument clusters the process of changing the language is straightforward:
 
  1. Press the 'Trip' button on the instrument cluster until the LCD displays the odometer mileage.
  2. Then hold the 'Trip' button until the language selection starts to scroll. This usually happens within 10 seconds.
  3. The LCD will start scrolling between 'English, Spanish, French'
  4. Release the trip button when you see the desired language displayed on the LCD
  5. That's it, the new language will be displayed now.
