Why does my odometer show dashes?
In many vehicles, the mileage is stored in more than one location. Typically the instrument cluster and another unit like the body control module, or some other kind of control module typically found under the dash.
If your vehicle is showing dashes on the odometer, it's most likely because there is either a VIN and/or mileage mismatch between the cluster and the control module that stores the mileage. The dashes usually show up on the odometer when a replacement unit is purchased that also stores mileage. Once the vehicle ignition is on it recognizes the mismatch and shows the dashes.
For any mileage correction service found on UpFix.com for every year, make, model we mention in the description and also via images exactly what control module is required if it is indeed stored somewhere other than the instrument cluster.
