Treadmill “E1” Error After 5–10 Seconds
Answer: No speed feedback means the tach input circuit on the board is open. We reflow/replace the input op-amp, clear E1, and return the board plug-and-play.
Quick take: E1 (or similar) means “no speed feedback.” Either the speed sensor is dead or the MCB can’t read it.
Rapid checks
-
Ensure the magnet/optical flag passes directly over the sensor eye.
-
Measure sensor output: ~5 V pulses on a multimeter set to DC average.
Board‑side faults we see
-
Op‑amp input blown by static discharge
-
Cracked resistor in pull‑up network
-
Oxidized connector pads
UpFix approach
We install brand‑new op‑amps, re‑establish gold‑flash contacts, and verify the board holds speed within ±1 % across 1–12 mph.
