Is there something within the vehicle I can check if my windshield wipers are staying on after a TIPM repair?
If the soldered-in relays inside were replaced and the TIPM was tested to be functioning well, there are two more things you can check in-vehicle to see why the windshield wipers are staying on.
Before proceeding please ensure that a hard battery reset was performed after installing the TIPM. Failure to do so, can prevent certain functions on the TIPM from working correctly.
1. Check the wiper motor itself. Sometimes these fail and no longer correctly interpret the signal coming from the TIPM.
2. Check the windshield wiper control switch. If the wiring or the switch itself fails it might be incorrectly sending out a signal to the TIPM.
