How can I troubleshoot my tail light?

The rebuilt tail light unit should be plug-n-play after re-installation. However, here are a few things that could be the issue:

Bulbs are not functioning well.
Fuses are blown.
The wiring plug harness going to the tail light is corroded or not fully plugged in.
