I am having an issue with my FICM. Should I check the spark plugs?
The FICM tells the injectors when and how much fuel to deliver to the engine cylinder. Symptoms of a failing FICM can be:
1. Loss of power
2. Poor fuel economy
3. Cylinder misfires
However, an overlapping issue that could cause Symptom #3 - Cylinder misfires are faulty coil packs and spark plugs which is why we recommend checking those as well.
Symptoms #1 and #2 (Loss of power and Poor fuel economy) could also be caused by a faulty fuel injector, clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump.
