Do you provide a box to ship the part?

We do not supply the box for shipping your parts to UpFix for repair. However, we will use a new box when sending the repaired parts back to you for added protection during transit.

For shipping parts for repair, the size of the box you should use depends on the dimensions and fragility of the part.

What factors should you consider when selecting the right box size?

Here are some general guidelines to follow:

  1. Measure the Part: Measure the length, width, and height of the part to determine the appropriate box size.

  2. Allow for Padding: Choose a box that provides at least 2-3 inches (5-8 cm) of space on all sides for padding materials such as bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or foam.

  3. Weight Considerations: Ensure the box is sturdy enough to support the weight of the part. Heavy-duty corrugated boxes are recommended for heavier items.

  4. Shipping Requirements: Check with your shipping carrier for any specific size or weight restrictions. Some carriers have maximum dimensions for standard shipping rates.

  5. Labeling: Clearly label the box with the appropriate shipping and return addresses, and indicate that it contains fragile items if necessary.

Example:

If you have a part that measures 12 inches (30 cm) long, 8 inches (20 cm) wide, and 4 inches (10 cm) high, you should use a box that is at least 16 inches (40 cm) long, 12 inches (30 cm) wide, and 8 inches (20 cm) high to accommodate padding.

Always use sufficient padding to protect the part during transit and ensure that the box is securely sealed with packing tape.
