Customs/Tarrif forms when shipping to UpFix?

This is very important:

  • Mark the shipment as “Temporary Import for Repair & Return”

  • Declare the value as $5 USD (not $0, not the full replacement cost)

  • Description: “Used [Part Name] – Temporary Import for Repair & Return”

  • Purpose: Repair & Return

This ensures the part clears customs without unnecessary fees.

Q: Will I be charged customs fees when my part comes back from UpFix?
No. Since it’s the same part being returned after repair, there are no new import duties or tariffs when it re-enters your country.

Q: Which carrier should I use for International orders sent to UpFix?
We recommend UPS/DHL because their system supports EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), making international customs clearance smoother. FedEx is also reliable, but UPS usually processes these types of shipments faster.

Q: What happens if I don’t declare correctly?
If the shipment is not marked as “Temporary Import for Repair & Return” and declared at $5, customs may treat it as a new sale/import. This could result in unexpected duties, taxes, or delays. Correct declaration avoids this issue.

Q: How long will shipping take Inernational order to UpFix?
Shipping usually takes 3-5 days each way. Most repairs are completed within 1 business day.

Q: Can I add insurance for international shipments?
Yes. You can add insurance when purchasing your shipping label. The customs declared value must still be $5, but the carrier’s insurance amount can be set higher to protect the real replacement value of your part.
