After repair, getting F1 error code (Frigidaire oven), is this related to the circuit board or should I check somewhere else?

The F1 error code on your Frigidaire oven indicates a fault in the oven's electronic control board. This error could be caused by several factors related to the thermal probe, fan, and heating elements. Here's a step-by-step troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the issue:

  1. Turn Off the Oven: Before performing any troubleshooting steps, ensure that the oven is turned off and unplugged from the power source to prevent any electrical hazards.
  2. Check the Thermal Probe:
  • Locate the thermal probe, also known as the oven temperature sensor. It is usually located inside the oven cavity, often near the top or back.
  • Inspect the thermal probe for any visible signs of damage such as frayed wires, corrosion, or disconnection.
  • The thermal probe should measure around 1100 ohms on average.
  3. Inspect the Fan:

  • The fan in your oven plays a crucial role in distributing heat evenly throughout the oven cavity.
  • Check if the fan blades are obstructed by any debris or if the fan motor is making unusual noises.
  • If the fan is obstructed, carefully remove any debris. Ensure that the fan can spin freely without any hindrance.
  • If the fan motor is faulty or making unusual noises, it may need to be replaced. Contact Frigidaire customer service or a qualified technician for further assistance.
  4. Examine the Heating Elements:

  • Your oven has heating elements responsible for generating heat for cooking.
  • Visually inspect the heating elements for any signs of damage such as cracks, breaks, or discoloration.
  • If any heating element appears damaged, it may need to be replaced. Contact Frigidaire customer service or a qualified technician for guidance on replacement.
  5. Reset the Oven:

  • Sometimes, resetting the oven can resolve minor electronic glitches.
  • Turn off the oven at the circuit breaker or unplug it from the power source for a few minutes.
  • Plug the oven back in or switch the circuit breaker back on, then turn on the oven to see if the F1 error persists.

Remember, safety should always be a top priority when troubleshooting or repairing appliances. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing any of these steps, it's best to seek assistance from a professional technician to avoid the risk of injury or further damage to your oven.
