After mileage correction, I have red dot next to the mileage on the dash. I sent my EWS with my cluster, should I send it back or can I fix this myself?
Perform a hard battery reset, clear the codes, and drive the vehicle for a few miles to see if the red dot goes away. This is a 'tampered mileage' dot indicating a mismatch between the mileage and VIN's on both the instrument cluster and the secondary unit on BMWs. The secondary unit is either an EWS, CAS, or FEM.
If the solutions above don't work, please send both units back in for us to re-examine the mileage on both as well as the VIN. You will also need to confirm which unit is NOT original.
