# If I only have a leaky gauge face that needs to be replaced on my cluster why do I need to pay extra?

On select Dodge/Jeep/Chryslers that use an electro-luminescent gauge face that's powered by an inverter, some of the older instrument clusters can develop what's called a 'leaky gauge face' or 'leaking faceplate.' In this scenario the gauge face itself has to be replaced with a new one to address the issue. However, the gauge face itself costs up to $200 with shipping regardless of what type it is, whether it's an OEM looking one, or a cool aftermarket one. Replacing the gauge face is a labor-intense procedure. If your instrument cluster needs the gauge face replaced due to it leaking, we offset the cost of the gauge face which is why it's an add-on not a standalone price. If we were to charge for example $189 for a gauge face replacement. With it costing $189 plus 90 minutes of labor, plus shipping fees, we'd be paying out-of-pocket to service this instrument cluster.
