[Stove/Oven Control Board](https://info.upfix.com/kb/appliance?hsLang=en#stove-oven-control-board) # How to Replace Range/Stove/Oven Broil Element 1. **Disconnect power supply:** Turn off the power to the range at the main circuit breaker to ensure safety. 2. **Remove broiler/top oven panels:** Lift out any mounting clips or screws to remove the broiler or top oven panels. 3. **Pull out broil element shelf:** Carefully slide the broil element shelf out to fully access the element wires. 4. **Detach wire leads:** Loosen the terminal screws with a screwdriver and detach the wire leads from the broil element. 5. **Remove the old broil element:** Slide the old broil element out of the mounting slots at the rear of the broiler box. 6. **Insert the replacement element:** Insert the leads of the replacement element through the access hole, then slide the element into the mounting slots. 7. **Secure the new element:** Tighten the terminal screws to securely connect the wires to the new element. 8. **Reposition the shelf:** Slide the shelf back into position below the broil element and replace the panels. 9. **Reconnect power supply:** Turn the power back on at the main circuit breaker and test the broiler function to ensure it is working properly. 10. **Replace any insulation or heat shields:** Reinstall any insulation blankets or heat shields that were removed during the replacement process. By following these steps, you can successfully replace the broil element in your range, ensuring it functions properly for efficient broiling. ### Most Common Solution Inspect the broil element for any signs of damage such as holes or blisters. A properly functioning broil element should glow red when in use. If it does not heat up or show any signs of damage, it may be burned out. To test if the broil element has burned out, you can use a multimeter, a tool that checks the flow of electricity through a component.
