Do I need to send in the pump with the ABS module?
For ABS / EBCM module repairs, customers should usually send ONLY the electronic ABS control module.
The hydraulic pump / ABS hydraulic unit does NOT need to be sent in for repair.
IMPORTANT:
Remove the ABS fuse before driving or operating the vehicle with the ABS module removed. This helps prevent ABS motor burnout.
Do not send the hydraulic pump unless specifically instructed by UpFix.
Why only send the module:
- the pump is not repaired as part of the ABS module repair service
- the pump increases shipping costs due to additional weight
- the pump can shift during shipping and damage the ABS control module
- the weight of the pump can break mounting tabs, connectors, or electronic components on the ABS module
- attached sensors, electrical connectors, and hydraulic fittings on the pump can be damaged during shipping
- shipping the complete assembly increases the risk of transit damage
- damage caused during shipping can delay the repair process or make the module non-repairable
- the hydraulic pump does not need to be removed from the vehicle for this service
To avoid delays, extra shipping costs, and possible damage in transit:
✔ Send only the ABS control module whenever possible.
✔ Leave the hydraulic pump installed in the vehicle.
✔ Carefully package the module to prevent movement during shipping.
If you cannot remove the module from the pump:
You may send the full assembly, but shipping costs will be higher and the assembly must be packaged extremely well to prevent damage.
